Tim, Thanks so much for the insights... Can't comment significantly on the effect of lower linewidths at higher bit rates.. although the company appeared to believe this factor was one contribution to the overall improved carrier to noise ratio. You apparently have considerable experience in this area and are better positioned to judge the accuracy of their assertions.
It is not altogether clear to me just how they did get their impressive SNR, but clearly if they have gotten the noise level down 25 dB from that of the best alternative, then they are worth a look.
Their achievement is so far beyond my own experience that I can only look on in awe from the sidelines.. my last experiment was an attempt to get T1 rates across twisted pair -- which could be done even back then if the copper was short enough <g>
