You think people have machine guns and automatic rifles? It is possible to possess those but the licensing requirements are so onerous, virtually no one does. You know how stupid liberals sound when they talk like automatic rifles and machine guns are a problem in our society?

I also don't think people should be able to carry guns in public without having to go through some very severe scrutiny.

Like requiring training and registering fingerprints with the state police?

Also, people that own guns should be required to carry insurance on liabilities possibly caused by those guns.

People are already liable for that. Insurance would just be a way for the govt to hassle gun owners with the intention of confiscating all guns.
