Gersh, it's one less dangerous beast in society. What's wrong with that? Look, our laws were never meant to cope with the types of criminals that society is facing today. If I were the chief of police, mayor, governor, or POTUS, I would never question cases like these that have a desirable end result. In fact, I would do everything in my power to encourage more police officers to take bold actions like this and eliminate dangerous criminals in any way that they can. Indeed, i's very unfortunate that we don't see many more cases with good endings like this one -- except for the police officer getting into trouble as a result, which was very unfortunate and wrong! The officer is a hero.
