I'm not sure why this would blow away ADSL. ADSL allows one to talk on the phone and surf the net at the same time using 1 line.

ADSL will cost ~$60/month, and run ~$500-$600/line. What is the cost of the Central Office modem for this Nortel solution? Does the ISP have to purchase a Nortel switch?

This looks like a technology which places the 1-Meg of Data onto the public switched VOICE network. I'm under the impression the RBOC's want to get long duration calls off the voice network. ADSL is filtered out and placed onto a Data network... until later.
