11/27/15 Contest update
Thankfully, there were relatively few turkeys stuffed in Contest portfolios this Thanksgiving week and, at Friday’s close, the Contest median was up a fat 21.10% YTD (vs. up 13.67% YTD a week ago). Also looking good were the Nasdaq Biotech Index, up 12.22% YTD (vs. up 9.71% YTD a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index, up 17.37% YTD (vs. up 11.86% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8.27% YTD (vs. up 7.79% YTD a week ago).
MOPGCW’s portfolio, up 85.44% YTD, had another stellar week holding on to a big lead. DONS’ portfolio, up 67.85% YTD, kept its grip on second place and last year’s Contest winner, DEWDIL's portfolio, moved into third place with a 57.07% YTD gain.
At the week’s close, 39 of the 51 Contest portfolios were in the green with 33 still beating the NBI and 30 beating the SPSIBI. The 206 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 10.20% and a median YTD loss of -3.67%.
