tekgk, or other resourceful Threaders, do you know of a website that has Aggregate Market Value estimates for the major stock exchanges? Morgan Stanley has published these in the past for weighting their benchmark global indices. Bloomberg does not appear to contain this data. I am trying to gauge the implied monetary contraction inferred from the substantial market declines that have occurred overseas, in particulat the Far East. TIA anyone. YTD(in $) Hang Seng -24.53% Nikkei 225 -32.11% Singapore -34.45% Phillipines -60.62% Kuala Lumpur -69.65% So.Korea -70.18% Jakarta -72.24% Thai -74.16%
