In September, following months of activity by anti-abortion activists, the House of Representatives held hearings that misrepresented the care Planned Parenthood provides — of which abortion is a very small part — and passed a bill that attempted to defund the organization for a year.

That same month, following arson attacks in both California and Washington State, the FBI warned the organization and other reproductive health offices of continued "criminal or suspicious incidents ... directed against reproductive health care providers, their staff and facilities."

Despite the warning, Planned Parenthood says it will "never back away from providing care in a safe, supportive environment."
