Michael, that bothered me a lot, too.

It's the idea that because the calendars in millions of computers do not allow for the year 2000 (y=year, 2K=2000) there will be great confusion and disorder and disruption. I say phooey! It's a trivial problem in comparison with everything else that's been achieved with computers. The anxiety is comparable to the way, in the year 1000, the Second Coming of Christ was widely expected.

I now expect to be flamed repeatedly by Y2K devotees.
