Yes the data is quite clear that a higher minimum wage is stimulative.

on the contrary, it's already proven to quite destructive. american samoa is as close to a laboratory experiment as you can get, due to its small size. the variables were quite limited there and most, even those with long held socialist beliefs admit that the minimum wage that was imposed on american samoa devastated its economy.

I also believe the US wins as a mixed economy - part socialism mostly free markets.

that's like saying you believe in mostly pure water with some sewage mixed in.

Wise enforced rules and regs on a level playing field to promote the invisible hand of competition (not these monopolies and oligopolies) while protecting the environment and public health.

'wise' rules according to whom? you might believe you know what 'wise' rules are, but i don't believe that you do. how is it that you should get to determine them?

I believe the already generous progressive estate tax is a wise tax, to keep meritocracy alive for the next generations.

so people like you will get to determine who can keep their businesses in the family? businesses that may have been grown for generations, all the time passing down their special skills for running it. and we can lose all that because you think you know what's fair?

Public education, for example, is expensive but brings a colossal ROI.

just the opposite. it's a giant black hole sucking resources in that will never be seen again. and it happens at the expense of the students it claims it helps. they are turning out illiterates that can't even think properly.

Paying for veterans is not cheap, especially with the perpetual war advocated by the hawks.

it isn't cheap, but it's a promise made. it's an obligation we have. one main purpose of the constitution is for defense.
