Apple may have had 'best Friday' ever this weekend

Apple Inc.'s AAPL, +0.71% Black Friday weekend is turning out to be quite profitable, according to two analysts, who said their checks at individual stores indicated strong interest for Apple products over the holiday weekend. The latest estimate came from Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities Research, who in a note to clients on Monday said an expanded distribution of Apple products through third-party vendors helped spur sales of iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads and Apple TV boxes. "Apple probably had the strongest Friday sales in its entire history," he said. This follows a note sent out to clients by FBR analyst Dan Ives on Black Friday morning, in which he said store checks at various Apple, Target and Best Buy locations revealed "growing interest" in the Apple Watch, prompting him to lift his December-quarter sales estimates on the device. Shares of Apple edged up 0.6% to $118.52 in recent trade. They have risen 4.5% over the last three months, versus a 6.7% increase for the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
