Asian Junk Bonds

Vi,

if you buy bonds, these are normally traded in face values of 10K or even 100K. But of course, you get large discounts now.

Depending on the legislation in the country you reside in, there may be legal or tax obstacles for investing in these.

I'm sure there must be Eurobonds of Maylaysia and Thailand, etc. If you are still with me , Bankers Trust in London is a big trader in Junk Bonds (in my experience), as are probably London Forfaiting Co. in London.

Call up Mrs. Atosa Moini at Bankers Trust, London. She may be able to help you or at least tell you who is in charge and what possibilities she sees, etc. Just remember, this is normally institutional stuff (also amount-wise). You may also have to think about custody keeping, etc. If you wish, I can give you her number tomorrow. She is a very nice person. Mail me to my private mail at thomas.haegin@span.ch

I think a bet via a bond fund is good and sensible, too.

Thomas
