New photos released in tree lighting bomb plot case:
In what could have been a jihadi bloodbath of unimaginable proportions, a young American Muslim, Mohamed Mohamud, attempted to mass murder upwards of 25,000 Christian families (mostly women and children) at a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in Portland, Ore. Mohamed Mohamud was found guilty, and Hamas-CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) were enraged. According to Reuters, Hamas-CAIR’s Ibrahim Hooper “said the case could alienate the Muslim community,” and his defense claimed “entrapment.”
Entrapment? Could anyone “entrap” you into mass murdering tens of thousands of people?
Mohamed Mohamud pushed the button twice. It failed to detonate, thanks to FBI surveillance programs (that very ones that CAIR is working fiercely to stop).
Mohamud’s undercover handlers offered him several choices in the service of jihad. He could have opted just to pray for the destruction of the infidels. On the other hand, he could have opted for Islamic martyrdom: killing infidels and getting himself killed in the process. He chose something in-between: a plot to kill infidels in large numbers without killing himself. He told the FBI he wanted to “become operational.” They tried to talk him out of it.
Mohamud is the man who twice pushed in the numbers on a Nokia cellphone to detonate a bomb that would have blown up two square blocks of downtown Portland–in the target he picked: Portland Pioneer Square at the lighting of “The Tree,” as the city calls it, to kick off the holiday season. Had the bomb been real, thousands of children and others would have been vaporized in the blast.

There is cell phone video of Muslim in Oregon who attempted to bomb Pioneer Courthouse Square, where 25,000 infidels gathered during a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. The video, captured in a dorm room, is very telling. This is clearly an American Muslim, steeped in American culture, who wants to destroy it. And the motive? Islam.
But look at the bigger picture here. He walks the American walk. He talks the American talk. He could be any American young man in any American town. He is the personification of assimilation, yes? And what is he talking? Jihad. What is he trashing? The West. This is a very important video, a very important point.
America pins all her hopes on assimilation, and crows that Muslims in the US assimilate better here than anywhere else in the world. We pop with pride that we won’t suffer the same fate as Europe, because we don’t have Muslim enclaves or no-go zones, etc.
The would-be bomber’s mosque, which almost immediately claimed that arsonhad destroyed records in their office, should be questioned. The arson was, IMO, an attempt to deflect attention away from blame. Who is putting these ideas in the heads of young Muslims? Where is this anti-West, genocidal ideology coming from? |
