Third of december, not winter but close enough ... put the last slice of tax-loss season ammo in, great majority is spent already ... it wasn't much, all in all, for the umpteenth year in a row i resolve to be more provident in the year to come, get great buckets of cash into accounts between mid-nov and the first days of december
fr.to - largest single slice went to First Majestic, because i've held none for months ... this was three weeks back and six bits lower, exact copy of same move last year [at entry price a loonie lower this time], which worked out quite well
ngd.to - various bits over a two week period, avg about 2.85, kept waiting for double bottom in 2.50s and finally gave up on that, it's cheap as dirt anyway
slw - on US side in taxable accts, .to in sheltered ... near as much as ngd, also three weeks back and lower, roughly a copy of same trade from last summer, entry a little higher
... then a few speckies, more selective this year than last [which had been more selective than the year before, as had the year before that, ad infinitum] ... it's a rough market, just because you like something doesn't mean that anybody else ever will ... got ske.v .055s, hah, also .06s ... gqc.v .12s, not so many because i sit on a fair amount of Goldquest now, reluctant to sell much on upswing because you never know when it's really gonna rip ... bits of ckg.v, small for same reason ... others, hmm mind wanders now, it's late ... [edit] - forgot bto.to, lsg.to, several others, oh well later
ngd.wt.a - got .08s, whoo-hoo ... but more at .09 and .10 ... still a year and a half left on these, and that's quite some gearing, 38-to-1 or whatever ... haven't had many of these for some time, traded bits back and forth a lot for years, since they came out summer of '07 ... had bids in to add to september's pile of dna.wt.a, none filled, canned them to bid on others
glk.v - lowest were .065, even though bids for .06 were in for ages
pkt.v - don't wanna talk about it [contest pick, touchy subject] ... but yes, a few in mid-.30s, maybe they'll do what they did last year, ramp it a dime between the day i picked it and the new year eve's entry price, lol
glh.c - ton of Golden Leaf ... not a tax-loss play, more of a special situation, impressive management and business model in an up-and-comer industry ... find it somewhat disquieting how busy the stockhouse thread is, lurked there couple of times last week, my gawd almighty ... can be a sign that a share's best days are behind it, but in this case i don't think so, it's got definite possibilities of something major and real |
