When it comes to the total number of mutual funds that focus on corporate bonds, aren't there at least 3 or 4 times as many different funds available versus 1990? It seems that everybody under the sun has their own group of different bond funds and many that focus on corporates in various shapes and sizes.

Wouldn't it make sense that they hold a larger total share of the market for corporate bonds?

In 1990 mutual funds held around 4pc of all corporate bonds in circulation; today they hold more than 20pc
