12/4/15 Contest update
Are investors getting their cues from cross dressers? They were decked out in their best bear suits on Thursday. But on Friday, investors were farpitzed in boffo bull outfits as they gored short sellers. However, looking at the week as a whole, biotech investors were not in a party mood.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 14.72% YTD (vs. up 21.10% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index, was up 9.22% YTD (vs. up 12.22% YTD a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index, was up 13.02% YTD (vs. up 17.37% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8.58% YTD (vs. up 8.27% YTD a week ago).
MOPGCW’s portfolio, up 80.73% YTD, gave up some ground but still finished the week with a large lead. DONS’ portfolio, up 62.75% YTD, held on to second place and MCBIO’s portfolio, slipped back into third place with a 50.51% YTD gain.
At the week’s close, 38 of the 51 Contest portfolios were in the green with 33 still beating the NBI and 29 beating the SPSIBI. The 206 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 5.99% and a median YTD loss of -6.66%.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the week’s Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks.
(Foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these Tables.)

(All corrections, especially adjustments for buyouts & splits, greatly appreciated.)

Peace & good health,
Bulba
