Actually, the 3 day old news is a valuable "feature", and unique to SI.

The 3 day old news is there as a courtesy for those SI users who aged significantly while waiting for responses from SI's servers. By the time they got the response to their request, they had forgotten what the news was at the time they made their request.

The delayed news "feature" will become more valuable as the SI user base ages while waiting for responses.

Oh, and ...
