the metastock program does not provide a data vendor with it, you must find one to use. Reuthers, who owns metastock would want you to use them. But the majority of the regular posters use TC2000 or Quotes plus. While TC2000 is working on a beta with ??? changes, many, including myself has moved to Q+. Both programs give charting and scan functions But the charting capability can't touch the extent of a fully capable program like MSWIN 6.5. And of course they should not be expected to. I suppose it boils down to - you need a data source first then an advanced charting program. Thats why Q+ or Tc2000 can be a natural start in TA and could be all that is required. Q+ is the best bang for the dollar. Thank you for kind words
