Because to be a Christian you need to believe in and accept as your savior, Jesus Christ. Acts chapter 16: .... "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." Living in a country where Christians are by far the largest faith or having Christian ancestors doesn't make you a Christian. You and bentway are examples. Both of you almost certainly had ancestors generations back who were Christians and you were born and raised in America. But both of you are vehement anti-Christians.
