You're so concerned about the overreaction, you would let the problem become worse and worse until it becomes too big to ignore. I am not concerned about overreaction at ALL. I am concerned about making something work. We are stuck in Afghanistan...if we leave, the shit hits the fan AGAIN. Iraq and Syria are exactly the same way. We can go in, kill a few people, suppress ISIS and stay there FOREVER...because if we leave, they start again. Obama knows this...you don't seem to, although it should be obvious. Only THEY can fix this...with our support. I would trust that Obama is as "cerebral" as you make him out to be if he didn't prove to be wrong about ISIS every step of the way. Kind of silly to say that he's "cerebral" compared to Bush because given your opinion of Bush, you would excuse Obama for ANYTHING on that basis alone. They all make regrettable statements given enough time in the limelight...although I really think that bush believed that misbegotten mission was indeed accomplished, that we would be greeted as liberators, and that Iraq would be a democracy...WAFI.
