Tim, hell I don't understand the technical stuff. The only hope for me is to figure out who is going to benefit from a "secular" move before it shows up in stock prices. I agree that sooner or later the icejam will break and somewhere, somehow the internet highway will actually be among us, and it will be big. The question is when and who and where and how. I don't want to bet on promising companies that end up with discarded technology, like the steam engine automobile, a step up from horses for sure, but it lost out to internal combusion engines. Anyway, to get to the point, Nightly Business had a story about a U.S. electric utility operating in England that was trying out a system operating over the power grid to 20,000 users to provide phone service with internet connections at 15-30 times faster than current rates. I remember my college in the mid-70's had a radio station that carried its signal on the power grid, so this is not all that novel a concept. What gives here? Will this work? Will it compete? Who could be the winner here? Any ideas?

Sincerely,

Geoff Wren
