That's exactly right.
Speaking of political correctness and Sharia Law, I wonder how the following hypothetical scenario would unfold. (Actually, it's not completely hypothetical, because we all saw what happened with the Charlie Hebdo horrific attacks and the additional death threats in the aftermath in Europe. The threats there are actually constant.)
Back to my point... Imagine a new business forming in Dearborn, Michigan, right in the most distinctly Muslim part of the city. Let's call it the Mohammad Cartoons and Jokes Company. The firm specializes in publishing Mohammad cartoon books, coloring books, t-shirts, vanity license plates, and greeting cards that feature Mohammad in hilarious and sometimes compromising positions.
First of all, the outrage from all Democrats, the leftists, the mass media, and RINOs would be overwhelming, but why? After all, there are countless, tasteless, and provocative jokes, literature, and merchandise that demean Christians and Christianity all across society. Those are full supported by leftists and protected by the First Amendment.
Second, I am sure that the Mohammad Cartoons and Jokes Company would be under the constant threat of violence. It would be bombed and torched, and its employees and patrons would be murdered in horrible ways.
The big question that comes to mind is how is this hypothetical case any different from forced desegregation, where National Guard troops violently enforced desegregation laws in schools across America? The government basically told Whites, "We don't care whether you like desegregation or not. It is the law of the land, and you will comply and fully obey it, or you will go to jail!"
With that in mind, we must ask, "Why wouldn't the government equally enforce and protect the rights of the Mohammad Cartoons and Jokes Company to exist in Dearborn, with the same vigor that it enforced desegregation in Little Rock?
The leftists would claim that the Mohammad Cartoons and Jokes Company company in Dearborn would be incendiary to Muslims, but the same was true regarding forced desegregation! The actions in Little Rock were incendiary to millions of Whites there, and in many other places across America. So, what is the difference? Why is it okay to violently force desegregation in Little Rock, literally at gunpoint, but allow Muslim's to self-segregate in Dearborn, and declare that if anyone speaks ill of Mohammad, even in jest, we will kill him in accordance with Sharia Law?
These questions are largely rhetorical, but the answers to the questions largely explain Donald Trump's rise in support and popularity. |
