I see this as a way for Copper Fox to raise some cash. It deminishes the eventual buyout price, which would be reflected in shares held by retailers. And Elmer still gets to pay his wages and spend the rest.
Great time for Teck to make the move as the shares would probably be priced at current value. Not necessarily what CUU paid for them. As always some one gains at the expense of others.

It has been a accepted fact ever since the Feasibility was released. Demonstrating the property could be mined profitably with higher Copper prices. That Teck would retain it for development sometime in the future. But it certainly does not in any have any determination on other timelines.
So why not tidy up a few things while values are low. Cash is king and Copper Fox is not really in the strongest bargaining position. Going to the market for money is not that easy at the moment.
