Bam! Solar flare struck today (Dec 14). This will be interesting. The strong Aleutian low plus strong jet streams, there's a lot of non-linear dynamics going on.

swpc.noaa.gov

Low 1 hit upper midwest this past weekend. Low #2 is coming in the next couple of days. High pressure drops of out Rockies behind this low. As that high hits the Gulf Coast, it'll set up a major storm Dec 22. This will be severe weather outbreak for Dallas to Kentucky. Major snow storm on back edge of low...probably starting out in west Texas and tracking to Chicago.

After this storm toward end of December, things will become "variable"...thaws then freezes then thaws. 20-30 degree variations.
