Hello THC,

I know there is a page on the web that provides current DRAM prices. I don't have the URL. I think you can find this using a search engine on DRAM prices or something. I use First Call which you probably don't have access to. I post DRAM price moves every 2 weeks. I will certainly let you know when I will be buying (probably 5 months).

THC, VLSI & Dataquest will provide the amount spent on equipment annually relative to semi revenue. This is a subscription to their research. I will post my findings for cal 97 when the info is available, probably 2/98. IMHO, DRAM prices are headed to $1.50 US. I expect a 200% increase in bit supply and a 100% increase in DRAM bit demand for 1998. Micron is moving to .25 micron without Deep UV steppers. This will double the chips per wafer from .35 micron.
Also, the entire SEA is driving the 64 meg ramp on 8" wafers which will conspire to drive 200% bit growth in 1998. Incidently, the 200% bit growth forcast is on capacity that exists today! I'm also considering the removal of 6" capacity. Incremental capacity adds are already in equipment company backlogs for the first half of 1998. It is the second half of 1998 when blood will be running in the streets in equipment land once new orders dry up.

Hope this helps,

Jay
