Sounds as if it's probably an insufficient memory problem.

Increase your Virtual Memory size to the maximum Win 7 will permit on your PC.

In Win 7, click START icon (lower left hand corner or your monitor), start typing Virtual Memory. At the top of the pop up, the process to change VM size should become obvious before you finish typing.
