There are pluses and minuses to using the free upgrade to Windows 10. The best of both worlds is having a dual boot with Windows 10 and your previous OS. If you have an image of your previous OS, you can add a drive or partition your main drive if there's enough space to recreate your previous Windows installation for a dual-boot. I'll go into this further if there is interest... * * *
