Am I the only one disappointed with this news release?
I am disappointed on three fronts, which are the three areas that I continue to be frustrated by ZEN.
#1 Timing
I realize that these are fantastic results, but the symposium was Nov. 14th. This article could have been released then in the midst of the doldrums of the share price. Even better would have been to interview a few people at the symposium to comment on what the upside of these results could mean for the graphite space.
#2 Content
The content of the release is accurate, but it isn't written for average retail investors. You have to read all the way to the 9th paragraph before the problems with synthetic graphite are raised. Then in a thunderclap of confidence the release concludes that "if the technical feasibility and economic viability can be established. . . would place Zenyatta in a strong position to compete. . ."
This would be a fantastic information to be given to the technical expert of a resource mutual fund company, or to a company like Teck who might want to expand their portfolio, but I doubt there will be any new investors as a result of this release. #3 Further Development is so uninspiring
The release ends by stating Zenyatta is in proactive development with major high purity graphite consumers to incorporate its Albany graphite into these advanced applications, as recently announced in a news release on 7 December 2015 reporting on use of Albany graphite in hydrogen fuel cells. If I was unaware of all the other press releases, I would look up the December 7th one and find that the proactive development that Zenyatta refers to is only with Ballard for hydrogen fuel cells. Please give us more details and please let us know that development with other graphite consumers is going well!! You don't need to give us names, but at least hint at what you are working on.
Conclusion
Zenyatta has all the goods but its business plan and communication stinks. Unless AE and Dr. Chahar are continuously being wined and dined by the Tesla's, VW's and Panasonic's of this world and they know they are the next big thing. If this is the case, then Investor Relations should be returning all of our emails with the simple statement, "we are currently in a black out for the next three months, please be patient." |
