My Grandfather started out with a homestead quarter and added another quarter. He had made good money and lent money to a neighbor. There was a land boom and he sold the 2 quarters and picked up the 2 quarters you see with the homestead picture. The fellow he lent the money to was not paying him back so he took over the land. Since that time there has been 5 generations and they all have bought land. My grandfather died in 1951 with accumulating 3 sections of land never using debt - all cash purchases. We now have the 4th and 5th generation farming the land. In fact this year we had the best crop ever raised on the land. They are farming 1000's of acres of land. This land has put every Osland person through college. We all graduated without any debt.
