My great grandfather financed a platoon for the Mexican war and was sold the ground for 1 cent an acre for doing that. The platoon raided Santiago's camp and stole the chicken that was cooking for his dinner and his wooden leg. They ate the chicken and his wooden leg is in Atlanta, Illinois.
