Bill:
I cant remember that far back on the Pens. I do know one
thing. Before the Microwave oven was produced the only way you
could get it was like my Father did: He saw one featured in a new
home in California and bought one through the Contractor that
built the home. I believe it was an Amana. I do know he paid
$1500.00 for it.Everything I have read on the Pentium II says it
is only about 6% faster improvement ie the 266 II over the 233
Pentium.

I know a guy who is in the Computer Business outside his
regular job as a small Independent and he is building a lot
of K-6s to sell and he says they are doing pretty good.A lot
of people want the lower Price and the under $1000 and even a
little dollars for the Speed is appealing to a lot of people. I
read where even Intel is rethinking its strategy due to the
Popularity of the under $1000.

This week I wanted to get my son a TV for Christmas as he needed
one. He has a lot of Stereo and Video Equipment and needed one
with an Audio and Video Input jack. I went to seven Stores and
most TVS even the more expensive 25 inch Stereo types and above
didnt have one.I found one in Sears but they didnt have one in a
Box. Finally went to my last Store which was a "Target" and
found one.You would think that these jacks would be Standard
on the newer TVS.If the under $1000 market has all they need in a
Computer and even COMP USA is seeing it then it wont make a
difference whether it is K6 or Intel. It didnt make a difference
on the "Brand" name because I had to have one with those jacks
for my purposes. Most people are not Familiar with the technical
aspects of the Computer and whether or not one has an advantage
because of FPU and one has an advantage for another application
because of an out of order execution etc.If they see it displayed
in the Store and it does what they want then they will buy if the
Price is right. Most of the Salesman cant answer any technical
questions anyway.
