They were not supported by the US.
The US did support people who fought along side Al Qaeda in Afghanistan against the Soviets, and are now supporting people who often fight alongside (but also sometimes against the situation is complex) an Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria against ISIS. But that isn't direct support. They haven't supported ISIS at all (unless you count giving weapons to the Iraqi army, and to factions in Syria, that were stolen by ISIS as supporting ISIS, or unless you count supporting tribal militias that were fighting ISIS's predecessor, Al Qaeda in Iraq (before splitting from Al Qaeda and reforming in to ISIS), when some of those tribes later became allies with or part of ISIS).
Also that isn't the only reason your statement doesn't make sense. Even if Al Qaeda and ISIS were created by the US and supported by the US, - "Its not really the Taliban or Al Qaida, as they were invented by the USA mainly."
Still would not make a lot of sense because
1 - It is the Taliban involved, not ISIS or Al Qaeda, so statements about them are not very relevant. 2 - The US didn't create or support the Taliban, and you aren't even claiming they did. 3 - Even if the US had created and supported the Taliban, it wouldn't change the fact that it is the Taliban who is and has been fighting the army of Afghanistan in and around Sangin. |
