That too. NASA became a case study. As NASA was winding down with the final Apollo and then Sky Lab missions, they noticed that every time a mission ended, guys in their 30s and 40s were dropping dead from a heart attack. Turns out, the previous situation of being on their toes throughout a mission and then following it with the satisfaction of a completed mission is a lot different from being on their toes throughout a mission and then following it with worrying if they were going to be part of the Reduction In Force that always followed a mission as NASA did in those days was a step too far with the stress.

In some ways it was a great experiment as to the effects that stress could have on a body.
