Chick-fil-A spokeswoman Amanda Hannah said certain restaurants across northeast Texas broke their famous “closed on Sunday” policy and opened their doors to offer free food to the first responders and victims who’ve been dealing with the aftermath of deadly storms that recently swept over the area.

“The locations were not open to the public, but team members from various restaurants in the area did volunteer to prepare and distribute free food to responders and others affected by the tornadoes—serving those in need during this tragic event,” Hannah said in an email.
