Jack, Interesting post. You reinforce my point. With 114 vendors, AOL has fewer "stores" than a single non-cybermall. Your 1-800-flowers example points to another future problem. As vendors become more sophisticated about cyberspace and notice that relatively inexpensive websites generate as much or more revenue than an AOL site, AOL's customer base will look a lot less attractive.
