Well, I don't think for most of us, it is as painful as losing a human we love, but it is certainly very painful.

I live day to day with my beautiful white Himalayan, who will be 18 years old in April. He can no longer jump or climb. I have to lift him if he wants on the bed. He will sit and talk to me about it until I come and put him where he wants to go.

Sadly, his two siblings died a couple of years ago, so he is all I have left now.
