Well folks if all goes as planned, Me and two friends today purchased our retreat location. 17 acres, with a gas well, water well, small stream and enough timber to build a log lodge. Location is North of nearly all western Pa towns with more than a couple hundred residences ( Except Erie). A small town just 20 miles South has all normal needs covered. The property is a moderately uphill sloping hill side with 4 terraces and 3/4 full canopy. The 1st Terrace is cleared and has been planted with rye and clover as the owner like to feed the deer. The 2nd terrace is short and circular with the 3rd situated in the position to build the lodge. We will use the butt and pass method. The top tier is a steep climb and contains a pine grove as well as an oak grove. Just past these trees is a cluster of crabapple trees. A former owner, who decided not to build left about 4000 red brick behind and a couple hundred cinder blocks. I believe we will find use for them as we start the adventure. The 3 principals will equally share the costs. The place will run like a country club. Those that buy the bond has full access and can be assessed for improvements and repairs. The social members will be permitted visiting/camping/lodging rights with the cost of a blackberry bush or a sack of grains on each visit. If the SHTF all members receive 100% access with no questions asked. Hopefully beer and burgers motivate some to help with the build out. People on both levels were selected for their quality of human behavior. Then, shooting ability, then hunting/gathering, medical skills and miscellaneous homesteading knowledge. Will load it for speed and damage out to 300 yards. My 1st AR is with a 20" match grade fluted barrel topped with Redfield 4x12 with a 1/4 min dot. It's good out to 600 yards and carries Sierra Game King 65 gr. bullets. Consolidating my handguns realizing my best efforts come from the 1911. Selling a 4006 and picking up a ruger 4" 45 acp. Need one more shotgun for "turkey" meaning 3.5 " chamber. This is the kind of fun I had as a kid. Shootie
