I just wonder, what is it that makes you think the effort to control a black market in guns would turn out any differently from Prohibition or the War on Drugs?

When we have tried to control supply of banned items that people really want to possess, the track record isn't impressive. But for some reason you believe this time will be different.

So, can you explain to me what makes you think it is going to be different?

That is before even considering whether such a process would be productive in reducing gun violence. Just what gives you the idea you can control possession of guns?
