There are still guns in Australia ... the young jihadist who shot a police employee recently had no trouble getting a gun. jihadwatch.org The government confiscated 1+M guns in the 90's .. mostly 22's, pump and semi-auto shotguns. But there are still legal guns owned by people fortunate to be awarded licenses.
