I agree. Not too long ago it seemed that negative articles regarding MCD came out practically every week. Now MCD's problems hardly warrant media attention because the problems are "old news." Everybody who might care knows about them.

James Cramer recently noted in a column that oftentimes one can see a "bottom" when the stock sits there and essentially does nothing for some time. That about sums up what MCD has done for the last several months--"dead money." The downside risk doesn't seem particularly high, however, whereas the longterm upside potential does seem fairly good.

"Buy when the crowd hates the stock; sell when everyone loves it." This old adage -- which, of course, applies only when one knows that the company fundamentally remains strong and can lay the groundwork for an eventual rebound -- applies to MCD, if anywhere.
