Ted, Maybe Zenith got the message, too. I like the fact that only Zenith offers a STB which is compatible with all the players: cable companies, telcos (MMDS, etc) and satellite companies (SDV).
What is real interesting to me today was Zenith's new tag line to its press release: " Zenith Electronics Corporation, based in Glenview, Ill., is a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of electronic entertainment products."
Is this the new Zenith we have been calling for? No more vaporware projects eating up millions and millions..just CE "electronic entertainment products" bringing quick revenue straight to the bottom line. Sounds great to me.........
Also of interest today was to learn that Scott talked with Glenview this morning and received a resounding confirmation on the VSBi royalties. According to Glenview, the licensing revenues will be HUGE, based on US figures alone, and much larger when other nations jump on board, too. The only competitor is the European standard which is miles behind America's ATSC standard in terms of implementation and features.
