OK, last post from me on this, Elroy... read the PDF here: aquaticcommons.org -- go to page 18... it is "basically ocean water, only slightly modified by its entrapment"... and if you read on to page 20 it gives specific values of salinity compared to the adjacent ocean water -- virtually the same range...

And don't forget that they raise shellfish for human consumption there which requires sea water...

Enough! I am done with this -- as I'm sure everyone else here is... I have lived within sight of the Encina Power Plant (next to the desal plant and the lagoon) since 1987 and have kept up with all of the relevant developments here... it is literally "in my back yard" so to speak...
