The Republicans do have alternatives.

The problems are

1 - They have many alternatives, not something that they are all united around.

2 - They don't have any great alternatives. That's not a knock on them, there are no great alternatives, including the status quo. Its not that improvement is not possible. Simply going to a pre-Obamacare situation would be an improvement, but it wouldn't be exactly great. Or maybe its just that nothing will be great compared to expectation, and esp. desires. Its not like health care hasn't improved in many ways over the decades, but people always want more (or don't want to pay as much for what they do get)
