Danforth is a very interesting guy. Born into wealth, he completed a bachelor of divinity from Yale Divinity School and a bachelor of law from the Yale Law School in roughly the same time period, late 50s into early 60s. A good friend, at least for a time, of Gary Hart whose time in both institutions overlapped with him. Interesting pair. Danforth is a good illustration of the political embodiment of mainstream American Protestantism.
