Although opening trade flows should generally be a boon to shipping the high debt loads of many of these make them better shorts than longs IMO, as an extreme generalization. Another factor to consider is are they getting paid a commission on freight, which would generate lower commissions at current prices. This would be similar to how the healthcare distributors benefit from generic price inflation.
