Well, his family has been inundated with health problems (a daughter with diabetes, wife with recurrent melanoma, son suspected of having an autoimmune disorder calling problems in his brain), so I understand his concern. But this is something that as a practical matter, could have been dealt with easily. It isn't a provision insurance companies would care much much about and could easily have been negotiated away at low cost.

The ACA would have worked, IMO, had the most important objectives been pursued to their end. But they had to tinker with everything.
