Having a stash of lightning in your fuel tank is science fiction Eric. Like a gasoline powered fuel cell. Theoretically doable, maybe. If not for the problems.

The main amplification takes place in a series of glass amplifiers located at one end of the beamlines. Before "firing", the amplifiers are first optically pumped by a total of 7,680 xenon flash lamps (the PAMs have their own smaller flash lamps as well). The lamps are powered by a capacitor bank which stores a total of 422 MJ (117 kWh) of electrical energy.

I guess you do now know anything about electrostatic electron storage..

Just about every electronic device would not be possible without them.

They do things batteries cannot do, like discharging all of their electrons in billionths of a second or less..

Something totally impossible for a battery to do with it's slow, chemical reaction process.

More energy is released in a few microseconds than all the power generated in North America.

Have you taken any classes in electronics or in the physics of electrons and electrostatic energy storage??
