Nope. George Wallace, like all but two of the segregationist Democrats, stayed a Democrat his entire life. Jimmy Carter got his start as a segregationist school board member and he's still a Democrat. Gore's dad was a lifelong Democrat. Ditto Bill Clinton's mentor, J Wm Fulbright, and Robert KKK Byrd.
