MJO > 2 for 26 straight days. What does this mean? Cold air will be reinforced over east coast U.S. and moisture will be fed into desert SW. More drought relief for California and potential for these disturbances to develop into snow storms east of Rockies (think Knickerbockers). Add the Sudden Stratospheric Warming going on right now, and February will rival February 2015 in snow and cold. This time, the remainder of 2016 will feature a rapidly cooling Pacific instead of a rapidly warming Pacific. Yikes!
