Joe,

A long time ago Novell bought a pretty good IP outfit (Excelan, where Marengi came from), and despite the fact that Novell was the number one unit shipper of IP stacks until Microsoft decided to give it away with the desktop OS, having IP experience and expertise hasn't helped Novell over the "open" hurdle.

So, I've quickly scanned all of the stuff on FTP software, but fail to understand what you think Novell would get from a purchase of FTP or a specific technology from FTP. A new CEO, perhaps?

Frankly, the way you push makes me wonder if you've got a put on NOVL. If Novell is going to invest, let's hope it's in something that makes a shred of sense, and not something that will take the stock even further into the toilet.

Bryan
