Gary at BiiWii, one of the few technical analysts I pay attention to, is calling $1.50 as the eventual floor for copper.

Canadian governments have almost nothing to do with the current economic position of our country; we are a very small boat being carried on very large currents on which we have little or no effect. That said, the Harper government did make things worse by tying our economy as closely to hydrocarbon production as they could, the equivalent of venturing out in even more treacherous currents in our tiny boat.
